Professional Development Event on March 24th

Have you ever dreamed about starting your own business?  Maybe you currently do?  Several of community’s young entrepreneurs are ready to share their journey with you.  Sioux Falls Synergy has put together a panel of some of the hottest success stories complete with their most detailed ups and downs. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.

In addition, Sioux Fall Synergy has accessed the South Dakota Technology Business Center – our community’s business start-up incubator – for hands on resources, tools, and how-to’s to start a new business, or take your current effort to the next level.  Pam Boehm, will be personally highlighting all that the South Dakota Technology Business Center has to offer.

Panelists are still being named. Here is the line-up so far:

  • John Meyers, 9 Clouds & Snapp
    John T. Meyer is co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of 9 Clouds, a social marketing and education firm based in South Dakota. John and his brother, Scott, started 9 Clouds in June of 2009 to help improve businesses through digital literacy. John started his first business in his college dorm room at the age of 22 and now is on business number four with the recent launch of Snapp, an iPhone and iPad development company. This fall, John was named to Businessweek’s Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25. Today 9 Clouds coaches and creates strategies for clients from California to Norway and everywhere in between.   • Kory Lindersmith, Dakota Retail Technologies
    Kory Lindersmith is the owner of Dakota Retail Technologies, a solutions provider of Point-of-Sale systems and small business VOIP phone systems, located in Sioux Falls. Started in 2004 by Kory and his business partner Lonnie Ladwig, they have become one the area’s largest providers of point-of-sale solutions to the hospitality and retail markets.   • Marc Rasmussen, Owner of Vision Video Interactive
    Marc Rasmussen has been in the Advertising/Marketing world since 1994. As a graduate of USD, Marc took a position in marketing at the Sanford Wellness Center and then took a marketing director position at CompuPrint. He then wrote a business plan to start a production company, got a business loan and started Vision Video Interactive. The company has been growing ever since and has chosen to stay small and nimble with about a dozen very talented employees. Marc has started 9 additional businesses to date.
  • Kimber Severson, National Vice President, Arbonne International  and Partner, The Empress Group
    Kimber has an MA in Communication Studies and has 15 year experience helping individuals and organizations with their communication needs. She has led marketing activities in the non profit and corporate world as a marketing director, taught communication courses at the collegiate level, built a network marketing business to the top level of management, and most recently became co-owner of  a marketing and advertising business, The Empress Group. She loves what she does and her mind is always spinning with new ideas! In addition, Kimber is a proud wife, mother and volunteer in the Sioux Empire.
