In honor of Mother’s Day, our civic event will be assembling Mother Baby Baskets at the Center of Hope. This project provides new mothers with the expensive and necessary items to care for the new addition to their family. The bundle includes a crib-sized quilt wrapped around a receiving blanket, onesies, newborn outfit, diapers, burp cloth, socks, cap and toiletry items for the mother and baby. The gift can help offset some of the costs involved with bringing a baby home and bring some peace at a time of change and adjustments.

Located in the Sioux Falls Ministry Center across from the downtown post office. Parking is available on the north and east sides of the building and in the back.
We’ll receive a tour of the Center of Hope and learn about services they offer and the remainder of time will be spent on the baskets.

Fifteen volunteers are needed.

A huge thank you to those that helped make the 94 Valentine’s Day goodie bags on February 7, 2012 for our Civic event. The goodie bags will be given to children at the Children’s Inn and Children’s Home Society on Valentine’s Day. We feel this small sweet treat will give love and hope to those that need a little extra attention.

The Children’s Home Society provides a home, school, and therapy for children, ages 4-13, with emotional and behavioral problems. Most are victims of extreme abuse and neglect. The Children’s Inn provides 24 hour, free services for women, children and men who are victims of family violence, elder abuse, child abuse, neglect, or sexual assault.

Thank you to our 26 volunteers for making Bottles of Hope for Sanford Cancer patients last week. Your creation will be cherished by patients and families. For those that missed this civic event or those who want to use their creative talents again, the next public Bottles of Hope workshop will be August 17^th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Carlson Conference Room in the Sanford Cancer Center. Arrive anytime and stay as long as you wish.
