Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

by Jennifer Johnson on Apr.19, 2011, under Civic, Community Involvement

A very big thank you goes out to our Synergy volunteers who volunteered Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds.  We passed out over 22,000 pounds of food to over 400 families or approximately 1,100 individuals! It was a wonderful day.  All ages started standing in line around noon to receive food and we didn’t start passing out the food til after 4:00 pm!  The line wrapped around the building and out in to the parking lot! If you missed this event it was an unforgettable event. Sioux Falls Synergy has a special place in their hearts, as well as in ours. And we should be very thankful we have homes to go to, many people there did not.

We are so very fortunate to have such wonderful volunteers in our Synergy organization, especially this past Synergy fiscal year, May 2010 to April 2011.  This was our best year ever for volunteering!  We logged over 164 hours of volunteering in the Sioux Falls Community! Way to go everybody! Thank you for all your hard work and what you do to make our community better!

This is a great opportunity to help in your community and be a part of the latest efforts to help families in need. There are many things to do to help including; unloading the truck, staffing tables and passing out food, helping people to their cars with the food, taking down tables and cleaning up. There are 300 to 400 families that come each week to receive the food!
We begin at 3:00 pm and will be done between 5:30/6:00 pm.
